May 1986 - July 2004: United States Army

1/04-7/04 Plans and Exercises Manager: Manager of a Simulations, Plans and Exercises department with 7 senior leaders. Conducted requirements analysis of simulations and future plans.  Supervised the integration of five different information technology systems into a functional IT system used for operations and simulations.  Conducted information systems risk analysis and developed mitigation plans.  Completed training guidance used by 8,000 soldiers.  Led two different project teams that completed initial planning and execution ahead of schedule.

6/03-1/04 Battalion Executive Officer: Second in command of a 396 soldier Battalion (MLRS).  Responsible for the coordination of a 30 person staff subdivided into six sections: Personnel, Logistics, Maintenance, Operations, Information Systems, and Intelligence.  Fiscally responsible for $990,000 of funded requirements.  Mentor to 12 junior officers.  Assessed information technology systems and directed changes to systems to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.

5/00-6/03 Operations Officer: Used Information Technology Systems to increase organizational efficiency to allow for personnel reductions and cost savings while accomplishing the same organizational mission.  Conducted systems analysis, requirement analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of three major Executive Management Systems.  Produced IT system documentation and standard operating procedures for two different large departments.  Developed three different long range plans used by over 1000 people.  Supervised four project managers as they worked on numerous life critical projects.  Fiscal Officer of a $3.2 million dollar budget.

6/97-5/00 West Point Assistant Professor and Instructor (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science): Responsible for instruction of various computer science courses and the course development of the United States Military Academy’s Fundamentals of Computer Science course in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.

05/86 - 05/97 Company OfficerLeader of teams ranging from 3 person teams to 120 person companies. Effective leadership was recognized five times with accomplishment and meritorious service awards. The teams I led were absolutely the best and recognized as professional, competent and trustworthy.
